We here at the Jollie Biker Ltd would like to advise you to read our following Booking & Safety Terms and Conditions. Your booking is accepted on the basis that you acknowledge that you have read, understand and accept our terms and conditions.
Itinerary Planning and Quotes
We love to plan individualized itineraries for you and your group. To ensure we can achieve your ultimate trip we need to work with you to gather important information. Before we can plan your itinerary and provide a quote for you we’ll need to know:
- The dates and times you would like to start and finish your trip on
- How many people in your group
- The style of accommodation you prefer
- Which specific sections of the Alps 2 Ocean trail you would like to cycle
- If you wish to hire bikes, panniers etc from us
- Any extra activities you would like incorporated into your trip
Once we have gathered all the information we need and understood your holiday needs, we will email you an itinerary and quote for confirmation.
The accommodation providers along the Alps 2 Ocean cycle trail are in high demand. In building your itinerary and quote we will pencil in your dates with accommodation providers, which they will cancel after 48 hours if not confirmed.
Because of this we ask for confirmation from your group of your itinerary & quote within 24 hours of you receiving it. We cannot guarantee that accommodation can be secured if we do not receive confirmation from you within this time frame.
All prices are in New Zealand dollars. We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, money order or bank deposit.
To secure the bookings required for your confirmed itinerary we require a 25% deposit to confirm your booking and itinerary with us. The balance of your itinerary cost is payable 60 days prior to departure.
We are currently working on developing an online booking engine. Until this is developed all payments can be made direct to our bank account on the details below, or by credit card.

Please reference your itinerary date and surname when making a payment. This ensures we can correctly allocate your payment to your itinerary account.
If paying by credit card normal credit card fees will apply.
If for any reason you wish to cancel a confirmed booking with us please notify us in writing.
For cancellations more than 60 days from departure date – you forfeit your deposit amount. It is available and can be applied to a future booking for you, departing within 12 months from the original departure date. A $50 transfer fee will apply.
For cancellations between 30 and 60 days from the departure – 50% of your full payment will be refunded.
For cancellations 30 days or less from the departure – there is no refund payable.
To gain maximum enjoyment of your cycle experience we recommend that all clients have a level of fitness enabling them to cycle at a medium pace on varied terrain for several hours for each day of their itinerary.
You must be physically fit, in reasonable health with no medical or other reason present for you to not participate in the activity of cycling. If you have any concerns, please advise us before you make your final payment.
During the booking process we require all of our clients to complete a health & fitness declaration form. Please list on this form any medical conditions or other information we need to know to include you safely in this activity. For example: asthma, allergies, heart conditions, epilepsy or pregnancy. The Jollie Biker Ltd reserves the right to withdraw any person from a tour for safety reasons.
Changes to your Itinerary
The Jollie Biker Ltd reserves the right to change tour departure times, routes and accommodation options to ensure client safety and satisfaction. If your itinerary is shortened for reasons relating to these changes you will be provided with a relevant refund.
We strongly recommend our clients take out travel, accident, medical, baggage and cancellation insurance. There will be no refunds once a tour has commenced.
We strongly recommend that all visitors to New Zealand have full insurance covering any injury they might suffer, including medical treatment cover, before undertaking this itinerary.
If The Jollie Biker Ltd is prevented (directly or indirectly) from performing any of its obligations under this agreement by reason of act of God, strikes, trade disputes, fire, breakdowns, interruption of transport, government or political action, acts of terrorism, acts or omissions of a third party or any other cause whatsoever outside The Jollie Biker Ltds’ reasonable control, The Jollie Biker Ltd will be under no liability to you and may, at its option, by written notice, either cancel the tour and issue a full refund, or make alternative tour arrangements as required.
Risk and safety declaration
You acknowledge that:
The Jollie Biker Ltd acts solely as an agent working with third party suppliers to provide services such as, but not limited to, your food, accommodation and bikes and that your right of action in regard to any shortcoming of that third party’s performance is against the third party and not against The Jollie Biker Ltd.
The Jollie Biker Ltd staff and management team will take all practicable steps to identify and minimize potential dangers. There is an element of risk involved in any adventure activity. You must follow the instructions of The Jollie Biker Ltd staff and management team and use any safety equipment provided at all times and accept the inherent and increased dangers and risks associated with your proposed tour and the accompanying risk of injury, death or property damage or loss.
We reserve the right to withdraw any person from a tour, who in our opinion, is likely to endanger themselves or others. We also reserve the right to cancel any activity on the grounds of safety.
Clients are required to take reasonable care of their belongings.
In consideration of The Jollie Biker Ltd accepting your booking, you:
Release, waive, discharge, hold harmless and agree to indemnify The Jollie Biker Ltd and its officers, employees, agents, licensees, guides and other representatives and the land management authorities in New Zealand from all claims, actions or losses for bodily injury, property damage, wrongful death, loss of services, loss profits, consequential, exemplary, indirect or punitive damages or otherwise which may arise out of or occur during your travel in connection with the tour or any activities conducted in conjunction there within unless caused by the wilful negligence or wrongful act of The Jollie Biker Ltd and its employees. Regardless of the situation of circumstances giving rise to the claim, you waive any claims you have, or may at any time have, against The Jollie Biker Ltd and its employees and you agree, by accepting the additional inherent dangers and risks associated with the tour, not to make any claim against or seek any compensation from The Jollie Biker Ltd and its employees in respect of any personal injury, illness or death suffered by you or damage to or loss of property sustained by you as a result of your participation in the tour.
To the extent permitted by law, all our liability for damage to your property, disruption to travel plans, or mental injury is excluded. This is subject to any rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantee Act 1993 if booking in NZ. If sections of the Act do apply The Jollie Biker Ltds’ liability is limited to resupplying the services or paying the costs of resupplying the services, whichever is the lesser.
WARNING: Under New Zealand law it is extremely unlikely that you will be able to sue anyone if you are injured and/or suffer disruption in your travel arrangements. The Jollie Biker Ltd holds a current public liability insurance policy covering all tours advertised by The Jollie Biker Ltd.
The information supplied by you on the booking and health forms will only be used by The Jollie Biker Ltd. You are entitled to access any information we hold about you or to request its correction at any time.
Your booking and all operations undertaken by The Jollie Biker Ltd are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
